The American SAMBO Association is close to becoming the National Governing Body for SAMBO here in America, but we need your help. FIAS will soon be making its final decision on this matter and the more support we show the better and easier it will be for that choice to go our way. This step will give the ASA a bigger role in not only how SAMBO is seen in the USA but on an international level! To the FIAS Executive Committee and attendees of the XXV FIAS Congress,
I am writing to request you include the American Sambo Association (ASA) in FIAS as the national governing body for Sambo in the United States. The ASA was founded in 2003 and has since grown to be the largest, most active, and most effective organization promoting & governing sambo in America. The ASA has accomplished more for American sambo than any other group in this country during the past decade. ASA teams have proven themselves in international and domestic sport and combat sambo competition while building a strong relationship with the international sambo community. The ASA is equated with American sambo worldwide. The ASA's expansive national membership, social media presence, media connections and combat sport affiliations are second to none. The ASA has promoted more tournaments, technical training and coaching educational opportunities than any US sambo group since 2003. As an American practitioner and fan of sambo, I want the proven most effective organization in charge of my sport. No other organization has demonstrated such success in the United States. The clear choice for FIAS is to include the American Sambo Association among its members.
